Dixie Chicks Appear to Have Changed Their Name

It appears as if the Dixie Chicks have changed their name to “The Chicks.”

Their Twitter handle is now @thechicks, and their website has been redirected to thechicks.com. If you don’t know, the word “Dixie” is commonly used as a nickname for the Southern United States, mostly regarding those that composed the Confederate States of America.

In addition, the girl group released a new song today titled “March March” and features footage from protests over the years and lists the names of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and others who have become faces of the movement.

The bands new album, Gaslighter, will be released on July 17, 2020. Pre-order the album on iTunes right now!

The Dixie Chicks are not the only band in recent memory to change their name. Find out which group just changed their name a few weeks ago.
