J. Cole Confirms He Has Two Sons, Says He's Considering Retirement

J. Cole is opening up about his life in a new essay that he wrote for The Player’s Tribune.

The 35-year-old rapper has always been very private when it comes to his personal life, but he has finally confirmed that he is the father of two sons.

J. Cole has previously referenced his fatherhood in his music, but he hasn’t openly discussed being a dad until now.

The rapper opened up in the letter about the four years that have passed since he released his 2016 album 4 Your Eyez Only.

“Four years have passed. In that time I’ve been blessed with two sons, learned the delicate art of balance between parenthood and career, had the pleasure of working with a ton of talented artists as a featured rapper, spent 10 magical days recording a Dreamville album in Atlanta, and put a lot of time and energy into sharpening my sword and growing as an artist,” J. Cole wrote.

He also talked about retiring, but said he needs to release his upcoming album The Fall Off first. He said he has a “long term plan of becoming the best rapper I could possibly be before hanging up my jersey, leaving nothing on the table when all was said and done.”
