Miley Cyrus is Opening Up About Her 'Very Public Divorce' From Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus is speaking very candidly about her divorce.

During her interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the 27-year-old singer talked about her “very public divorce” from Liam Hemsworth, saying that going through it in the public eye “f–king sucked.”

“What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore,” Miley admitted. “That’s okay, I can accept that. I can’t accept the villainizing and just all those stories.”

Miley and the 30-year-old Australian actor married in December 2018, and filed for divorce in August 2019, citing irreconcilable differences.

Around the same time they announced their separation, Miley started a relationship with The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter. In the interview, Miley said that her relationship with Kaitlynn, 31, didn’t happen overnight.

“It’s just amazing to me that the public kind of thinks that there is no gap in time that they didn’t see that could possibly be what led to this. Like, it’s not, ‘One day you were happy on the carpet, and the next you’re making out with your friend in Italy,’ what the f–k?” Miley said. “Well, there was a lot of time between that you didn’t see.”

Miley and Liam finalized their divorce in January 2020. Liam has been linked to this model for almost a year now.

During another recent interview, Miley revealed a lie she told Liam for nearly a decade.
