'Suits' Writer Defends Show's Former Star Meghan Markle

A writer on Suits, the hit drama that starred Meghan Markle before she departed to start her royal life with Prince Harry, is now publicly defending her.

It started when a Twitter user wrote, “You know, it is fully within the realm of possibility that BOTH the denizens of Buckingham/Kensington Palace AND the Duchess of Sussex are awful people. We do live in a world no longer constrained by simply binary oppositions.”

The writer, Jon Cowan, then responded to the now deleted comment, “It’s also possible the Duchess of Sussex is a good person thrust into an unimaginable world. Having spent 3 years working with her in her pre-Duchess days, I saw a warm, kind, caring person. I know nothing of her current situation but she gets the benefit of the doubt in my book.”

If you missed it, this week, a feature from The Times claims that the Duchess of Sussex was named a a bully by one of her close advisers during her time as a working royal at Kensington Palace. Meghan released a statement denying any claims against her.

The timing of these claims is raising eyebrows as Meghan and her husband have a big tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey set for this week.
