Joe Biden's Son Hunter Comments on Dating Former Sister-in-Law Hallie After Death of Brother Beau

President Joe Biden‘s son Hunter Biden is speaking out about dating his late brother’s widow, his former sister-in-law Hallie, for several years after Beau‘s tragic death.

The pair began dating in 2017, two years after Beau‘s death, and split in 2019.

“I think people were confused by it and I understand that. I mean, I really do. To me, it’s not something that is difficult to explain,” Hunter told CBS Sunday Morning. “It came out of a real overwhelming grief that we both shared and we were together and trying to do the right thing and that grief turned into a hope for a love that maybe could replace what we lost.”

When their relationship was discovered in 2017, they released a statement that said, “Hallie and I are incredibly lucky to have found the love and support we have for each other in such a difficult time, and that’s been obvious to the people who love us most. We’ve been so lucky to have family and friends who have supported us every step of the way.”

Their breakup was reported in late 2019. Beau Biden tragically died at the young age of 46 from brain cancer.
