Now, the Grammy-winning singer is opening up about her friendly relationship with Chris in the latest episode of the Spout podcast.

The interviewer reminded Lizzo that when they previously chatted at the 2019 MTV Movie Awards, Lizzo “had just tweeted Chris for the first time on Twitter.”

“I asked you and I was like, yo, did he respond? And you looked at me and you’re like, girl, no, it’s Chris Evans. So now we’re fast forwarding to 2021 where you’re having a fake baby with him and he’s all up in your DMs. So I had to know, did you ever see it getting to this point?” Tamara asked her.

Lizzo responded, “I’m literally shook because I did not remember until now that that happened. What did I say?”

Tamara replied, “I mean, you basically were like, no, it’s Chris Evans. You weren’t expecting a response.”

“No, but when did I tweet at him? He probably thinks I’m so crazy,” Lizzo said. “No, I didn’t think you would ever get this far. Holy shit. That means that there’s some real. Maybe this is the story of our love, like when we get married. I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding. Chris is like, very cool. I’m so glad he has a great sense of humor because anyone else probably would have been so annoyed by me by now. The fact that I keep making Tiktoks about it, so he’s probably like, damn, okay, they know, but you know this is incredible.”
