Sky and NBC have shared the same parent company since 2018, with Comcast paying $39 billion to outbid Fox for the British-based broadcaster.

SNL has already been adapted in a number of territories, including China, Japan, Italy, Poland and South Korea.

According to Deadline, who first reported the news, comedians are already “lining up to be involved.”

Variety adds that the new show will likely air much earlier than SNL does, as there isn’t the same culture around late-night programming in the U.K. and shows with later time slots historically haven’t faired as well.
