Britney Spears' Dad Now Wants Her to Pay for His Legal Fees

Jamie Spears is hoping to get more money from his daughter Britney Spears.

It was just reported that Jamie is requesting to have Britney‘s estate “continue to pay his legal fees” and her attorney calls the request an “abomination.”

Britney paid for Jamie‘s legal bills throughout the 13 years of her conservatorship and she also had to pay for her own legal fees while trying to get out of the conservatorship for the past four years, according to Variety.

The petition asks for Britney‘s estate to pay the lawyers who are “participating in proceedings concerning Jamie’s ongoing fiduciary duties relating to winding up” the conservatorship. His lawyer charges around $1,200 per hour, according to the report.

The petition states, “Prompt payment on account of Jamie’s attorneys’ fees is necessary to ensure the Conservatorship can be wound up quickly and efficiently to allow Britney to take control of her life as she and Jamie desire.”

Britney‘s lawyer Mathew Rosengart released a statement in response to the request.

“Mr. Spears reaped many millions of dollars from Britney as a conservator, while paying his lawyers millions more, all from Britney’s work and hard earned money. The conservatorship has been terminated and Mr. Spears was suspended ignominiously,” he said in a statement. “Under the circumstances, his petition is not only legally meritless, it is an abomination. This is not what a father who loves his daughter does.”
