Princess Anne & Husband Sir Timothy Laurence to Skip Holidays with Queen Elizabeth After He Tests Positive for COVID-19

A member of the British Royal Family has tested positive for COVID-19.

On Tuesday (December 22), British royal correspondent Omid Socobie confirmed that Princess Anne‘s husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence had tested positive for the virus and will have to skip the family’s Christmas plans.

“Princess Anne will not be amongst the family visiting the Queen at Windsor for Christmas after her husband Sir Timothy Laurence tested positive for Covid,” Omid tweeted. “A Buckingham Palace source says he is ‘following all the appropriate rules’ and the Princess Royal is isolating.”

People also confirmed the news, reporting that Anne, 71, and Timothy, 66, will be isolating at their home Gloucestershire for 10 days, following the rules and regulations set in place by the government.

The news comes just two days after Queen Elizabeth shared that she would not be traveling to her Sandringham estate for her annnal Christmas celebrations. Instead, the 95-year-old monarch will be celebrating the holidays at her home at Windsor Castle.

This is not the first major change the Queen has made this month amid the surge in COVID cases.
