Encanto‘s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has become the first Disney song in 29 years to reach the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart!
The smash hit song is performed by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto cast.
To achieve its number one spot on the chart, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” was streamed 34.9 million times in the U.S. over the past week. It also sold 12,300 downloads and received 1.5 million radio airplay audience impressions.

The song is only the second song from a Disney animated film to top the chart, following “A Whole New World” from Aladdin back in March 1993.
Aladdin‘s soundtrack peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 albums chart, while Encanto‘s soundtrack is at number one for a third week on the chart. This is the first week that a Disney animated movie soundtrack has topped both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 at the same time.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is the sole writer of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and this is the first time that a song with only one writer has topped the Hot 100 since Ed Sheeran‘s “Perfect” in January 2018.
Here’s why the song has no chance at winning an Oscar.
