Several Awards Won't Be Handed Out During Oscars 2022 Telecast (Report)
There is another big change coming to the 2022 Oscars.
Several of the 23 categories presented on the air during last year’s telecast will not be presented on the air during the 94th Oscars on March 27, THR reported.

The decision is “already causing tension within the leadership of the Academy,” according to the report.
It is not yet known how the awards will be handed out instead, but pre-show and commercial-break presentations seem likely, with clips of the results edited and aired later in the broadcast.
The exact categories that will be cut from the telecast are also not yet known.
This isn’t the first time they’ve attempted to present awards off air: the Academy announced in 2018 that several awards would be presented off the air at the 2019 Oscars, but there was industry backlash, and the organization abandoned the move.
