'Ray Donovan' Actress Mary Mara Dead at 61 After Tragic Drowning Accident

Ray Donovan actress Mary Mara has tragically died after drowning in the St. Lawrence River in New York.

Mary passed away on Sunday morning (June 26) at the age of 61 after going for a swim in the river for some exercise, according to TMZ.

The outlet reports that New York State Police responded to calls about a possible drowning in the town of Cape Vincent at around 8am that morning. Mary‘s body was discovered in the water.

Mary, who was from Syracuse, was in town visiting her sister at the time. There are no signs of foul play and an autopsy is currently being performed.

You might recognize Mary from playing Mrs. Sullivan in season one of Showtime’s Ray Donovan. Her other TV credits include ER, NYPD Blue, Lost, and Law and Order.
