Jimmy Kimmel Speaks Out About Quinta Brunson's Emmy 2022 Win, Reacts to Being on Floor During Her Acceptance Speech
Quinta Brunson won her first Emmy Award last night in the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for her hit ABC series Abbott Elementary!
However, while on stage to accept her award, the mega-talented 32-year-old had to accept her award and give her acceptance speech while Jimmy Kimmel was on the ground in front of her.
If you didn’t see the moment, Jimmy was involved in a bit while presenting the award. Will Arnett dragged a “passed out” Jimmy on stage to present the award, and joked that Jimmy got “drunk” after losing an Emmy that night to John Oliver.
Fans were rightfully outraged that Quinta had to deliver her speech on stage while Jimmy was laying on the ground in front of her.

When asked about Quinta, Jimmy told ET, “She is so unbelievably talented. And I saw her pilot before it came out on ABC, and I wrote to her, and I was like, ‘I don’t know how we got this, but congratulations. You made a pilot that any network would be ecstatic to get.’ She’s a lovely person as well.”
He was then asked about laying on the ground in front of her during her speech, to which he responded, “I had my eyes closed, I had no idea where I was. It was one of the weirdest things that’s ever happened to me.”
After giving her acceptance speech, Quinta reacted to Jimmy being on the floor and the backlash surrounding the moment.
