Andy Cohen Responds to Ryan Seacrest's Shade, Reveals If He Purposely Ignored Him (& Called Anderson Cooper for Confirmation, Too)

Andy Cohen is reacting to Ryan Seacrest shading him live on TV this week.

You may know that Anderson Cooper and Andy co-host CNN’s celebration, which takes place just a few feet away from Ryan‘s New Year’s Eve gig on ABC as they’re all in Times Square in New York City.

Well, during Live! with Kelly and Ryan on Tuesday (January 3), Ryan was relaying a version of events that went down on December 31 while he was hosting the show.

“It was funny because my big stage was right in front of Anderson and Andy,” Ryan shared. “When I was not working, I was trying to get their attention.”

“I thought maybe I was in the [CNN camera] shot,” he added. “I just wanted to wave and say hi. They have a great show. And Anderson, the best. He turns around and he says, ‘Have a good show.’ Class. Class. Andy did not turn around.”

Now, Andy is reacting to the shade, and actually getting Anderson’s opinion on it all, too.

“He’s got a bug up about me. Two weeks in a row,” Andy said on his Sirius XM show on Wednesday (January 4), referring to Ryan shading him this week AND last week.

“I didn’t see him,” Andy confirmed. “I don’t even know what I, I didn’t see Anderson [Cooper] turn around and wave. Usually what Anderson will do, and I should, I should call him back and ask him about this, frankly. But I think he’ll yell at me if I do… usually if he’s waving at Ryan, he’ll say to me, ‘Hey, there’s Ryan.’ You know what I mean? Yeah. And then I’ll turn around and wave or I’ll say, ‘there’s Ryan,’ but he didn’t do that.”

Then, Andy called Anderson right on the air to set the record straight.

“Oh, you’re gonna get me involved in a thing with Seacrest,” Anderson responded via a phone call with Andy.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Andy responded. “This is a you and I thing because he said on the show that you very politely turned around and waved to him and mouthed to him have a good show and that I didn’t turn around. 

“Right,” Anderson said. “Or Happy New Year or something.”

Andy then said, “And I, and, and my point is that what the point I was just making on the show was usually if one of us sees Ryan and turns around and waves, we’ll say to the other, ‘oh, there’s Seacrest.’ So I’m saying, you didn’t say that to me this year.”

“I did not do that. I’m sorry if that was a failing on my part. I thought I saw you waving or something,” Anderson confirmed.

“Thank you for clarifying that,” Andy said. “I didn’t see him.”
