James Gunn Denies Rumors Jacob Elordi was Cast as Superman, Shares Update on Role After Henry Cavill Departure

We’ve got bad news for anyone who was excited to see rumors that Jacob Elordi was suiting up as Superman in the next DC movie.

DC head James Gunn has officially confirmed that the rumor is nothing more than that.

He reacted the the casting whispers on social media and provided an update on where they were in the casting process in a pointed post on social media.

James quote tweeted a film account that shared a rumor about Jacob being cast as DC’s defining hero.

“My thoughts are no one has been cast as Superman yet,” he wrote.

He continued, “Casting, as is almost always the case with me, will happen after the script is finished or close to finished, and it isn’t. We’ll announce a few things in not too long, but the casting of Superman won’t be one of them.”

Questions have been swirling about Superman since Henry Cavill confirmed that he would not return as the hero, despite rumors that he was gearing up for Man of Steel 2.

Oddsmakers said that one star has emerged as the frontrunner in bets on who will be Superman next.
