Zachary Levi Responds to Criticism of 'Shazam 2' End Credits Scenes & Speculation Over the Character Leaving the DC Universe

Zachary Levi is responding to commentary surrounding the end credits scenes in Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

Journalists and fans took to Twitter on Friday (March 17) and spoke out with some criticism for the end credits scenes as some believe that they won’t lead to anything in the DC Extended Universe amid the change in leadership.

The director of Shazam 2, David F. Sandberg, says that the movie did not change at all following the change in leadership at DC. Because of this, fans think the end credits scenes won’t be linked to the new DCEU.

ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis wrote, “The issue I have here is if those credits scenes are never going to lead to anything… it’s a bummer. Between The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Black Adam, and Shazam! 2, it felt like the DCEU finally had a direction again – and *then* the studio decided to reset. Poor timing.”

Head inside to check out Zachary Levi’s response…

Zachary replied to this tweet and said, “Never gonna lead to anything?? Ummm, says who?? 🙃.”

Another person tweeted, “Hate to tell you, James Gunn just took over all DC film production, and he said these Shazam movies won’t be included in his film universe.”

Zachary responded, “Hate to tell YOU, my friend, but James said nothing of the sort. That’s all conjecture coming from the peanut gallery of toxicity. A terrible place, really. Might I suggest spending less time in those waters, and more in searching for truth. It’s a wonderful endeavor. 🤗.”
