Taron Egerton Addresses James Bond Casting Rumors

Taron Egerton is reacting to all of those James Bond casting rumors.

If you don’t know, Daniel Craig wrapped up his time as the famed 007 superspy after his last film No Time to Die was released in 2021 and now the hunt is on for the next star to take the reigns.

Actors that are rumored to be in consideration to play the next James Bond include Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Rege-Jean Page, and Taron, 33.

In a new interview, Taron addressed the casting rumors and revealed if he would want to play Bond.

“I don’t think I’m the right choice for it,” Taron told The Telegraph. “You have to be consistently statuesque to be that guy. And that’s something that I am still striving for. I’ve always struggled with my weight.”

Taron went on to explain that playing Bond “is a bit like being a brand ambassador as well as being an actor. And that could be really fun in microcosm, but I’m sure I read that [producer] Barbara Broccoli said that it’s a 15-year commitment.”

He also clarified, “It’s sort of irrelevant how I feel about it, anyway, because I can tell you there have been zero phone calls.”

Earlier this month, Idris revealed if he’s been approached to play the next James Bond.
