Rupert Murdoch Is Engaged to Ann Lesley Smith After Recently Divorcing Jerry Hall

Rupert Murdoch is engaged, again.

The 92-year-old business man will be married for the fifth time, this time with former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith, 66.

Rupert most recently got married to model Jerry Hall in 2016 and finalized their divorce in 2022.

“For us both it’s a gift from God. We met last September,” Ann told the NY Post.

“I’m a widow 14 years. Like Rupert, my husband was a businessman. Worked for local papers, developed radio and TV stations and helped promote Univision. So I speak Rupert’s language. We share the same beliefs.

“In perspective, it’s not my first rodeo. Getting near 70 means being in the last half. I waited for the right time. Friends are happy for me,” Ann said.

Rupert was previously married to Wendi Deng from 1999 to 2014, Anna Maria Torv from 1967 to 1999 and Patricia Booker from 1956 to 1965.

“I was very nervous,” Rupert admitted about proposing. “I dreaded falling in love — but I knew this would be my last. It better be. I’m happy.”

“She and her husband also owned a vineyard and had been in the wine business. Last year when there was 200 people at my vineyard, I met her and we talked a bit. Two weeks later I called her,” Rupert said of their initial meeting at his vineyard in California.

Rupert continues to serve as chairman of Fox Corporation, and controls The Wall Street Journal, The Sun and HarperCollins.
