Jana Kramer Responds to the Tragic Nashville School Shooting, Reveals Her Kids Go to School in the Area

Jana Kramer‘s family has close ties to the area of the Nashville school shooting.

The 39-year-old singer and boyfriend Allan Russell attended the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

While at the awards on the same day as the shooting, Jana emphasized what is most important. “People are like, ‘Who are you wearing?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t care. I want to go hug my kids right now,” she said of her two children.

“Their dad picked them up at school, and they’re good,” Jana told People.

She shares 4-year-old son Jace and 7-year-old daughter Jolie with ex-husband Mike Caussin.

“A parent should never have to fear dropping their kid off at school and not knowing if they’re gonna pick them up,” Jana continued.

“It’s just not okay,” Jana said of the tragic school shooting. “I’m a big believer in prayer. I’m a big believer in all those things. We need Jesus, yes, but we need action too.”

The shooter was identified as a former student of the Christian elementary school in Nashville who killed three children and three adults.

The shooter had a detailed map of the school, including entry points and a plan.

Jana revealed her connection to the school. “I know a teacher that was there, and then we have some friends that have kids — but they’re safe — that went there,” she said.
