Julian Edelman Defends Rob Gronkowski After Former Teammate Makes Big Claim About His Behavior

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is defending former teammate, tight end Rob Gronkowski.

In an interview, a former teammate of theirs claimed that Gronk would pass out at the Patriots team facility after night out with his friends.

Jake Bequette, a former defensive player for the Patriots, alleged that Rob would “go out all night with his boys in Boston” and then “his crew [would] drop him off at the Patriots facility.”

Jake continued on the episode of Prime Time with Alex Stein, “So then, like an hour or two later, when the trainers would come in to start their workday, they’d come in there and see Gronk just sprawled out on the training table, just fast asleep. They would go over there, they wouldn’t wake him up, they would roll up one of his sleeves and, you know, stick an IV in his arm.”

Julian defended Gronk, writing on Twitter, “Story is BS. Everyone wants to paint Gronk as a party animal. When in reality he was one of the most dedicated teammates I had.” Julian and Gronk played several seasons together on the Patriots and won a few Super Bowls together, too.

Patrick Chung, a safety for the Patriots who played with Gronk, added, “Exactly. People just want their time of fame. Willing to do anything to get it.”

Find out why Julian decided to retire back in 2021.
