Jimmy Buffett's Music Surges on Streaming After His Passing

Jimmy Buffett is being remembered.

On Friday night (September 1), it was announced that the musician, best know for his hit song “Margaritaville,” had died while surrounded by his friends and family at the age of 76.

And now, fans are feverishly streaming his music, resulting in several of his hit songs surging to the top of the Spotify charts.

According to the Spotify Daily Chart via Kworb, his big hit “Margaritaville” is currently the sixth most played song in the United States.

There’s also “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” with Alan Jackson at No. 12, “Cheeseburger in Paradise” at No. 30, “Come Monday” at 44, “Knee Deep” with Zac Brown Band at 45, “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes” at No. 50, “A Pirate Looks at Forty” at No. 54, “Son of a Son of a Sailor” at No. 71, among many others.

If you didn’t know, his cause of death has also been revealed.
