Drama Series Based on Audrey Hepburn's Formative Years In The Works

A television series based on the life of Audrey Hepburn is in the works.

Variety is reporting that the series will be based on a treatment co-written by her son Luca Dotti and Italian journalist and writer Luigi Spinola.

Jacqueline Hoyt, who is best known for her work on CSI, The Good Wife, and The Leftovers, has been tapped to write the drama series.

Audrey is one of the many faces of classic movies, celebrated for her roles in Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and her Oscar winning role in Roman Holiday.

Luca and Luigi had previously authored “Audrey at Home,” which was part-biography, part-cookbook about the starlet, and it included excerpts from her correspondence, recipes and unpublished family photographs.

In the book, “Luca and Luigi explored the singularity of Audrey’s real self,” a Wildside production statement said, noting that “the muse, the mother and the later humanitarian all closely relate to a girl that never stopped to be amazed by the gift of life.”

The drama series, titled Audrey, will be based on their other research during her “formative years.”

Previously, Audrey‘s granddaughter, Emma Ferrer, revealed which of her grandmother’s movies was her favorite.

Audrey Hepburn's Granddaughter Emma Ferrer Steps Into the Spotlight with 'Harper's Bazaar' Cover!

Emma Ferrer, the granddaughter of the late legendary actress Audrey Hepburn, shows off her beauty on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar‘s subscriber cover for September 2014, on newsstands August 19.

Here is what the 20-year-old aspiring artist and Florence Academy of Art student had to share with the mag:

On being the granddaughter of a legend: “I remember seeing a photo of her jumping on a trampoline”I believe this was before I understood that she was famous. But I remember thinking that she looked like a friend I wish I could have had… As a child I couldn’t really relate to Audrey Hepburn, the actress. To me, she was family.”

On the films of Audrey’s she enjoys: “When I watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I enjoyed it the same way any young girl would. I’ve seen My Fair Lady and Roman Holiday, but I suppose my favorite is Funny Face.”

On whether she has anything of Audrey’s: “All I can think of are her cashmere turtlenecks, which I adore and wear all throughout the winter,” she says. “And a white antique stuffed teddy bear.”
