The 36-year-old actor is a Broadway veteran, but everyone is predicting he’s on to even bigger things after his star performance as Judas.

Brandon Victor Dixon kicks things off with the first solo of the night during Jesus Christ Superstar Live on Sunday (April 1) at Marcy Avenue Armory in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The 36-year-old actor is playing the role of Judas in the concert production of the hit musical and he performed “Heaven on Their Minds” at the top of the show.

Brandon Victor Dixon is winning over audiences with his work as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar Live and he’s more you should know about the actor!

The 36-year-old actor has been nominated for three Tony awards and won one as a producer on the revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Brandon has starred in such Broadway shows as The Color Purple, Motown: The Musical, and The Scottsboro Boys. He most recently played the role of Aaron Burr in the Broadway production of Hamilton.

Brandon made headlines during his run in Hamilton when Vice President Mike Pence visited the show in November 2016 and he addressed the VP-elect from the stage following the performance. Trump demanded that he apologize for the “harassment” of Pence, but the actor later said there is nothing to apologize for.

You might recognize Brandon from his work on the television series Power.

NBC has released a gallery of new portraits featuring John Legend and the cast of the upcoming Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.

John will be playing Jesus in the show alongside Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas, Alice Cooper as King Herod, and Jason Tam as Peter.

The show will air live on Sunday, April 1 and it will be performed in front of a live audience at the Marcy Avenue Armory in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Sara Bareilles and John Legend pose for photos at the Jesus Christ Superstar press junket on Tuesday (February 27) at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City.

The stars were joined by co-star Brandon Victor Dixon.

“Casual Mary-ing before Jenna-ing tonight. #dreamy,” Sara wrote on Instagram that morning. If you didn’t know, she is currently starring as Jenna in Waitress on Broadway!

Jesus Christ Superstar will air live on NBC in April 1.

The three entertainers were also joined at the event by cast mate Alice Cooper, as well as NBC Entertainment Chair Robert Greenblatt, director David Leveaux and executive producer Neil Meron.

Denzel Washington suited up for a screening of his new movie Roman J. Israel, Esq. tonight!

The 62-year-old actor hit the red carpet at the event held at Henry R. Luce Auditorium at Brookfield Place on Monday (November 20) in New York City.

He was joined by his co-star Carmen Ejogo, as well as writer and director Dan Gilroy, Amanda Warren, Sam Gilroy, and Elisa Perry.

Brandon Victor Dixon, Alex Lundqvist, Jeffrey Wright, and Rosie Perez also stepped out to show their support, along with Carmen and Jeffrey‘s daughter TK.

Denzel both stars in and produced the crime drama, set to hit theaters on November 22. He plays Roman Israel, a driven, idealistic defense attorney who, through a tumultuous series of events, finds himself in a crisis that leads to extreme action.
