Hamilton's Brandon Victor Dixon Says 'There's Nothing to Apologize For'

Brandon Victor Dixon, the star of Broadway’s Hamilton, is opening up about delivering a message to Mike Pence and why he thinks “there’s nothing to apologize for.”

Donald Trump says that the cast was rude and he demanded an apology on behalf of the VP-elect.

Brandon appeared on CBS This Morning on Monday (November 21) to talk about the experience.

“The producers, the creatives and the cast, we recognize that Hamilton is inherently an American story told by the definition of the American community – we are men and women of different colors, creeds, and orientations – and the resonate nature of the show throughout the world, throughout the global community, demands that we make statements when there are important issues facing us as a community,” Brandon said. “So we wanted to stand up and spread a message of love, and of unity.”

“I was honored to represent our cast and our show in that way,” he added. “For me, I think the most important thing in respect to all the emotions everyone is feeling after this election is to make sure that people recognize that we are not alone. We are here together.”
