Dog the Bounty Hunter's Daughter Reacts to His Engagement, 10 Months After His Wife's Death

Bonnie Chapman is speaking out in response to the news that her father, Duane Chapman (aka Dog the Bounty Hunter) is engaged.

Duane‘s wife and Bonnie‘s mom, Beth Chapman, passed away just 10 months ago after a battle with cancer.

Last year, Duane talked about how he contemplated suicide after Beth‘s death and now their daughter is just happy to know that her dad is happy again.

“My father has gone through so much this past year without my mother. It’s been extremely difficult to see one parent pass, and the other so intent on following. My father deserves to be happy,” she wrote on Instagram. “He’s still got my mother’s name on his chest. He’ll never forget her and the love she gave him. She would be happy my father is in love and finding peace.”

“Life has never been easy for my dad, but love is something that comes naturally to him,” she added.

Bonnie wrote in a comment to a fan that she feels her mom “sent Francie,” his new fiancee, to her dad.

“She’s a blessing and is helping my dad heal day by day,” she said.

Dog the Bounty Hunter aka Duane Chapman Is Engaged to Francie Frane

Duane Chapman, aka Dog the Bounty Hunter, is engaged to Francie Frane 10 months after the death of his wife Beth Chapman.

“I wasn’t expecting it at all,” Francie told The Sun of the proposal. “I think I had gone to pick up some food and then when I came back he had all the lights turned down with just a few lights on and a bunch of candles lit. So when I came in I was like, ‘Wow, this is awesome.’ Then he said, ‘Come in, sit down because I need to talk to you.’”

“So, I put all the food in the kitchen and I came in and he said, ‘I know that God brought you into my life and I don’t want to spend one moment of it without you.’ And he got down on one knee and he opened the ring box and he said, ‘Will you marry me and spend the rest of our lives together?’ Who can say no to that? It was wonderful,” she added.

Duane wants a big wedding and added it will be “one hell of a party.”

Duane Chapman Reveals Why He Proposed to Moon Angell After Late Wife's Death

Duane Chapman is explaining why he proposed to Beth Chapman‘s friend Moon Angell after his late wife’s death in June 2019.

Dog the Bounty Hunter got candid about continuing to mourn the loss of Beth in a new interview with ET.

“Oh, I miss her,” Duane said. “Eight months, that’s the worst part, it seems like yesterday and they say ‘time heals all wounds.’ No, it doesn’t.”

“She was the glue that held my family together,” he continued. “So now I got to redo it and restaple everybody — and we are all kind of brawling right now.”

“Well, the girls are very upset because of other girls I’d be looking at,” Duane added. “Or they may say, ‘Dad, they just like you because you are Dog the Bounty Hunter. They don’t like you because you are Dwayne or Dad.’ The boys are like, ‘Dad, you know, if you love them, if you like them, we are for you or whatever you decide.’”

It appears as if Dog the Bounty Hunter aka Duane Chapman proposed to Moon Angell, the friend and former assistant of his late wife Beth Chapman, while making an appearance on the Dr. Oz show.

In a promo for the show, Duane says, “I am a lot happier with her around,” while crying. He then looks at her and says, “Moon Angell, will you marry me?” The episode won’t air until February 3.

TMZ has the backstory, and while it appears to be a proposal,”he was overly emotional and got caught up in the moment. We’re told he did not give her a ring during the taping, and they are not engaged.”

Beth passed away after a battle with cancer back in June of 2019. She was first diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer in 2017, and was cancer free for months but it returned in November of 2018.
