Mr. & Mrs. Smith went down in history as the movie that birthed Brangelina. However, it could have very easily starred several other A-list actors.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s chemistry took the movie about a husband and wife who work as assassins for opposing agencies to the next level.

Their versions of Jane and John Smith absolutely sizzle so hotly on screen that they sparked romance rumors while filming and wound up dating and eventually getting married in the years that followed.

While the movie is famous for introducing us to the former A-list couple, it turns out that they almost weren’t paired up in the roles. In fact, Brad was first tied to the movie with another popular actress. However, she had to back out, which led to Brad also briefly departing the project.

After that, several other stars were considered for the roles of Jane and John before Brad and Angelina were finally cast. The list includes a popular singer, one of Brad‘s exes and so many more of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars.

We decided to revisit the list amid Brad and Angelina‘s ongoing legal battle.

Brad Pitt responded to Angelina Jolie‘s latest legal filing in their standoff over the sale of Miraval, a winery that they shared joint ownership of in France.

If you need a reminder, Angelina has been trying to sell her share of the winery for years now. Though she was granted permission to do so in 2021, Brad sued her and argued that she was breaking a previous agreement.

The legal standoff developed significantly this week after Angelina filed court documents stating that she had faced pressure to sign an “expansive” NDA before Brad would agree to buy her out.

It was alleged that the agreement would prohibit her from talking about past incidents of physical abuse, which her team claimed happened before an infamous 2016 incident involving the couple’s children.

On Friday (April 5), Brad hit back via his own filing as friends close to him accuse Angelina of putting up a “smokescreen.”

Angelina Jolie‘s legal team is making news claims about Brad Pitt‘s behavior when they were still together.

The former couple has been involved in a lengthy legal battle over a French winery that they share ownership of for years.

In new court documents filed on Thursday (April 4), the actress’ team allege that Brad will not allow Angelina to sell off her stake without signing an “expansive” NDA. It was implied that the NDA would hide past incidents of physical abuse, which predated a 2016 incident involving the couple’s children.

Angelina Jolie‘s daughter Vivienne made a rare public appearance with her mom on Wednesday night (April 3).

The mother-daughter pair attended a preview of their Broadway show The Outsider at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in New York City. If you were unaware, they are both producers of the project, which is an adaptation of the 1983 movie of the same name.
