Carrie Underwood: Save Country Music!

Grammy nominee and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood calls the attention to the effort of preserving vintage country performances (on audio and video) at the 9th “The Soul of Country” Annual Grammy Foundation Music Preservation Project. The event was held at the Wilshire Ebell Theater on Thursday night in Los Angeles, Calif.

she pretty famous, yet i havent heard any of her songs nore have i seen any of her videos

I’m sure Country Fans hear and see Fergie, Gwen, Nelly, JT ect ect all the time, and all over the place. I see her music doesnt extend pass CMT.

Carrie has a nice classic look going for her. I am even digging the upsweep do- little “sixties” - but nice. I’m not much into country music but she was good on AI and has managed to have a successful career.

hmm, as a HUGE country music fan, and a person wanting to pursue a career in the country music industry, Carrie Underwood is FAR from “vintage country.” Maybe we’ll hear it with her next album, but her first album was completely country-pop. I’m guessing due to the fact that she had to record whatever the record label handed her and gave her little say, though what they gave her was the best of the best of country-pop (hillary lindsey, brett james, rivers rutherford) writers. Maybe we aren’t talking music, and just style. Well, ok, I guess you could say that she represents “vintage country” in this picture and at this event, but, nothing impressive. I’m not a big fan of CMT, due to the fact of it being so mainstream. If you want “vintage country” style, and music… try Lee Ann Womack. The woman is completely underrated.

let me tell you my husband hates country but i catch him watching cmt all the time.. and commenting on how hot the girls and the videos are that he should become a country music fan.. and also i listen to country along with Fergie, Gwen, Nelly, JT ect ect all the time… so umm, maybe YOUR limits dont extend past the pop music station….

Britney needs to use Carrie’s stylist. Isn’t it amazing how nice you can look when you keep yourself clean. Carrie is a sweet girl, a great singer, and performer. I do not like country music but I like her stuff. I bet she crosses over a bit into mainstream.
