Robert Downey, Jr. is set to star in an upcoming musical comedy, according to reports.
Synopsis for the yet-to-be titled film (via The Hollywood Reporter): Two Broadway songwriters find themselves creatively and financially bankrupt when their big-break musical flops. Searching for inspiration, they take jobs as counselors at the theater camp they attended as kids and hatch a plan for a big comeback.
The 45-year-old Sherlock Holmes star will team up with his wife Susan to produce the film.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!! We can’t get enough RDJ in our house. And combining it with a musical (fave) comedy? Win. When can I buy tickets? :)
Interesting. A bit autobiographical as well as RDJ attended Stagedoor Manor theater camp as a young-in..sure will draw from that experience.

So nice to see that robert downey is doing well now in the business he loves and that he is staying on and maintaining the path of success. Its never easy to overcome bad habits and I am glad that he staying away from the negative aspects

@ Vale, you really need to study acting if you say Robert Downey Jr, can’t act, get a clue, he’s phenomenal. I will watch this guy reading a menu, he’s AWESOME, such versatility and he can sing too. I hope they pick a good costar for him.

Yes, Robert can sing, and he has a lovely singing voice.
He sang on “Ally Mc Beal” (his cover of Joni Mitchell’s “River” gets me misty-eyed), and he also has a CD entitled “The Futurist”.
And (if memory serves) he also sings “The Christmas Song” in the Planters Peanut Christmas greeting commercial.
I’m definitely there for this movie, and wouldn’t be even more awesome if Hugh Jackman were to co-star with him?
