OlderIan Somerhalder & Nina Dobrev: World Ocean Day!
Ian Somerhalder and girlfriend Nina Dobrev celebrate World Ocean Day 2011 at Affirmation Arts on Wednesday (May 18) in New York City.
The 32-year-old Vampire Diaries actor planted a kiss on the president of La Mer, Maureen Case, at the event, which was hosted by La Mer and Oceana.
Ian is back in the country after visiting Africa, where he explored ways to help stop climate change.
“Back in JoBurg!Zimbabwe was very enlightening experience-learned so much.HUGE thank you to Allan Savory,Judy&African Centre of Holistic Mgnt,” Ian tweeted from South Africa.

Ian is SO gorgeous! I love him, ahhh I am so jealous of Nina, I wonder if she has a crush on him in real life, how could you not?! Nina is beautiful too but I think Ian needs someone a few years older, say 27, like me! ;)

Please, people should stop saying how Ian can “do so much better” given that Nina is insanely beautiful. And Nelly, i think you are very shallow to judge the value of a relationship solely on one’s appearance. I would agree that one’s appearance is often what attracts others initial interest, but what really matters is what’s inside. If you are a fan of Ian, you would know that he has a big heart to help others and is much more than meets the eye.
Congrats to them for making it official to their fans; i realize how much courage it takes with the media’s pressure. I hope their relationship goes well; my only concern is what will happen if they do break up in the near future. Their chemistry on screen may turn awkward and being on set with each other may become uncomfortable (i.e. Nina is still very green in the industry and may not know how to handle similar situations given that she claimed to have never dated anyone on set). That’s really the problem when actors (in the same show) start to date. The domino effect; the break up, becoming uncomfortable with each other, show goes downhill, ratings drop with lost chemistry on one of the most important elements in the show, show cancelled, back to dull lives where the media no longer has the spotlight on them.

vampire diaries going into it’s 3rd season this fall plus she did 53 episodes of degrassi … she’s here to stay and you really need to read a book or two every once and a while because i don’t think you know how long “15 minutes” is.

I like Ian but he’s 33. Nina is a beautiful young girl who should be enjoying herself. BTW, I didn’t realize how short he was or Nina shouldn’t wear heels when she’s around him.
