Demi Lovato kisses her Waterford crystal trophy backstage at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Wednesday (January 11) in Los Angeles.
The 19-year-old entertainer (wearing an Issa dress with Jimmy Choo shoes) beat out Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna and was named Favorite Pop Artist!
“Thank you guys so much. This award is amazing. The nominees that I was up against are people that I look up to and aspire to be one day, and I won this award because of my fans, so I dedicate this to you guys. I love you guys so much,” she said.

I have to say this definitely isn’t her best vocal performance, but she does have a decent voice when she’s not trying so hard.

I love her but she over sang this time round….and at certain parts she hit wrong notes. She needs to learn she doesn’t have to push it so hard.
It came full circle for me last night. Everyone knows the story I follow her around to as many shows as possible and fell in love when I was there the first night she sang “Believe in Me” ..Then I was so devasted last fall. Now to see her hold that trophy last night. I wish I had a front row seat and politely stood up and handed the most beautiful flowers women have ever seen………It was just the greatest..Lovatic4eva!!

It wasn’t her best performance (though, it was better the second time I watched it), but I assumed she was nervous. She’s still amazing (check out her performance of this same song from the NYC NYE show), beautiful, and my biggest inspiration.
I will say this though, if you don’t like her fine. But don’t say she doesn’t deserve the award. Clearly she does, because she got the most votes.

Demi is a beautiful girl. Why hide her natural beauty behind all those layers of face paint? It will only age her prematurely. She will look lovely with subtle makeup or no makeup at all.
