On May 22 Brad Pitt made a surprise appearance at an advanced screening of his upcoming film World War Z in Hoboken, NJ and one of our Twitter followers, @Sara__E, was there!

She told us all about how shocked the crowd was when Brad emerged onto the stage, “the screening was supposed to start at 10:30 p.m., we got there at 9:15 and the line was already long… we were bummed when we finally got in because we ended up sitting in the front (5th row) but after the fact, we were like ‘thank god we were in the front!’”

She continued, “it was a long wait for the movie to start, we were wondering what the hold up was. Then I saw people in suits around the aisle by the front exit, and one of them said ‘sorry for the delay, thanks for being patient, we’ll be starting soon’ and one guy comes back from the bathroom and was told ‘please take your seat, we’re not letting anyone leave the theater’. At this point, we were joking around thinking ‘what? that’s weird, are they gonna have a zombie attack on us- interactive theater!’ and the guy behind us was kidding around saying, ‘Heh, is Brad Pitt coming or something?’. Literally, a second later, a camera guy comes through the door in the front of the theater and then Brad comes walking in! We all went nuts! Everyone was screaming and cheering, he had a huge smile on his face, waved at us, he threw a couple of t-shirts to the crowd, gave high-fives – everyone was in complete shock! He was given a mic and introduced the movie. I remember him thanking us for coming out so late to see the movie, and that he had shirts for everyone. He also said that they wanted him to do a screening in NY but that if he did one in NY, then he had to do one for the fans because that’s who they made the movie for, and in “no better place than Jersey!” The crowd went wild. Before he left, he gave a few more high-fives as the crowd cheered on. He really hyped up the room, we were definitely more excited to see the movie, it was pretty spectacular. I’ve been a Brad Pitt fan for a long time! As soon as he left, the lights went dark and the movie started. Personally, I enjoyed the movie–really intense, a lot of zombie action, just over all a fun movie to watch. Oh, and at the end, Brad didn’t lie, we all got shirts!”

Check out more of Sara’s photos below and a video of Brad at the screening! If you have a celebrity encounter you’d like to share, let us know about it at!

Can’t wait to see it. Promise me it won’t be too scary. I may need to be held.

Old? You’d look old, too, if you were being chased by zombies. This is not a walk on a Mexican beach with a margarita in your hand and too much sun tan oil. It’s a fight to the death. Actually too much tanning oil might help – the zeds would slip off.

Brad said WWZ is the most intense movie of this summer and scary as hell. I am preparing to cover my eyes a lot. lol

  • well

Not a zombie fan, but I have to support Brad, I will be there the opening day.

  • catherine

I am really scared of zombie, I am planning to see it in 2D, but my kids want to see it in 3D. kids nowadays are so brave. I have no choice but to see it in 3D.

LOL! Do I get a discount if I can only watch snippets of the film through my fingers?

  • bizzy bee

June 21st, I’ll have my butt planted in the seat for WWZ. I plan on seeing the movie multiple times — even though I know I’ll be scared. The preview I saw on tv was very exciting!

I hope it’s true Angie will be attending the premiere with her love.

Oh, btw I finally received my wine in time for memorial day and it’s superb. The bottle is lovely – feminine and masculine all in one.

  • Booooo

Holy zombie he looks old. They couldn’t use special effects on Brad Pitts face because of the price they already used on the production. They used old footage from the Emmys for the plane scene.

  • Booooo

    Have a look yourself.

    From imdb

The shot that I’m talking about appears at 2:03 in the 2nd trailer.

And the opening for the 58th Annual Emmy Awards hosted by Conan O’Brien. The same plane shot from the trailer above is used in the first 3 seconds.

Add those really bad photoshop posters to it and I’m less and less excited to see it (not that anybody should care;)

Brad’s images is trending #3 on Bing! I’m starting to hear some positive buzz about this movie now…

How sad ange is not allowed to attend her aunts funeral because she has to show off her breasts for Pity’s movie in London. How disappointed I am, angelina, what a weak woman to not shut down her old man for her real family.

  • To brangtards

I will be viewing the photos happily because I do like angelina but I will shout it loud on this board how used she is for pity’s sake. Her family will be mourning her aunts death (her uncle says she has been there for them but she won’t be at funeral) she will be used as a prop at world war z premiere. Diss.a.pointed to say the least.

  • an opinion

@To brangtards: Oh STFU if Angelina would go there you would be whining that she is trying to make the funeral all about herself. If Debbie’s husband is ok with the situation than you have no right to be upset. Because he knows it’s not about Angelina.

  • To brangtards

No anger but definitely disappointment in the way ange allows pity to use her on the eve of her aunts funeral. Her beloved mums only sister died and yet angelina and breasts will be propped up for pity in London… I can only imagine how disappointed her mother would be. Hope brad , his management and rest of pr people behind world war z have a change of a heart and allow angie to attend the funeral. He is beyond sick for this one.

  • To brangtards

@an opinion: no I would not , you selfish as brad pity btch. I would chear her on for being strong enough to shut down pity’s or team. Go directly to jail, btch.

Looks like promotion for WWZ has kicked into high gear! Totally getting psyched now. I’ll be hosting a WWZ pre-party for my friends on June 21st before the show and serving the Jolie-Pitt and Perrin Chateau Miraval rose. Picked up my bottles for the bash last week, but may need to go back for a few more, as I’ve already “tested” a bottle. It’s a really, really good full-bodied wine. Very smooth and mellow. Don’t know if I’ll be able to hold out until June 21st. ;-)
Also looking forward to seeing Angie with Brad at the WWZ London premiere on June 2. So much to look forward to.

  • No such thing as coincidence

Before you sh** all over the title let’s talk timing. What Angelina Jolie did was brave. I think we can all agree on that. She took preventative measures and had a double mastectomy in hopes she wouldn’t suffer the same fate as her mother. And, in making it public, opened a dialogue for women in similar situations. But now we’re finding out that her first appearance post-announcement will take place at the Brad Pitt/World War Z premiere. Is this a case of the Jolie-Pitts using the Angelina Jolie/mastectomy story to promote the drama-ridden movie?
There’s no question Jolie’s presence helps the film.
There’s nothing like Brangelina star power. And this movie needs it. I haven’t heard any horrible reviews so far but all the money and b*th*ng that took place to get the movie made is on a gigantic scale. If it bombs this could very well be Brad’s Waterworld. And we all know what happened to Kevin Costner after that flopped. He needs this. World War Z needs to be a massive hit this summer.
So, again, timing. Why did Angelina come out with her New York Times piece so close to the movie opening? Was timing that important to her story? Could she have delivered the same message a couple months after the movie was out in theaters? Breast cancer awareness month is October after all. Wouldn’t it have made sense to make her statement then? Perhaps the couple was worried about a leak. Perhaps Angelina and Brad were tired of keeping their secret. Who knows? I’m just saying this couple is very good about using its relationship in the media when they need to sell something. Brad’s recent Esquire magazine interview is a testament to that. They talk when they need to talk. I’m just wondering if the awkward timing between the New York Times piece and the premiere bothers anyone. Does the Angelina Jolie/World War Z premiere appearance cast any shadow on her recent reveal or is all of this purely coincidental?

I am so looking forward to seeing WWZ. Have read the book (or at least 3/4 of it) and throughout that time, I imagined these slow moving zombies. So whilst I love the geopolitical-social aspects of the book, it wasnt exactly scary.
I’m so looking forward to humans turning into zombies within minutes and who swarm and act like bees or hornets or bull ants.

It seems Leo D caprio is dating yet another model type. Now I do think Leo is icky, but why or why do beautiful young women allow themselves to be seduced by the Leo the capricious? I would never have been attracted to those sorts of men in the first place.

Hoping to watch this movie in Brasil. It seems to be amazing!
