Amy Adams Covers 'Allure' Magazine July 2013

Amy Adams graces the cover of Allure magazine’s July 2013 issue, out on newsstands Tuesday, June 25!

Here’s what the 38-year-old actress had to share:

On her looks: “Perfect isn’t normal, nor is it interesting. Some of these actresses or public personas who are very public about their disciplined diets, more power to them. I just don’t see the point. I’m just not going to be one of those people photographed in a bikini where people are like, ‘OMG, look at Amy!’ I mean, it might be OMG, but not for the reasons I want.”

On being unrecognizable (despite 4 Oscar nominations, 3 Golden Globe nods, and one win): “I have no features without make-up. I am pale. I have blonde lashes. You could just paint my face—it’s like a blank canvas. It can be great for what I do.”

On playing Lois Lane in Man of Steel: “I’ve wanted to be in a superhero movie, and this was my best chance—as some mere mortal. Let’s be real here. I don’t look that good in Lycra. I do all right, but I hadn’t anticipated that I was ever going to be cast as the girl in Lycra looking hot.”

Yah I agree she might be talented but she had NO star quality.

She’s probably one of those celebs… who can be an actress but cant be a star.

She is a huge star and is the focal point of every scene she’s in. Just watch Enchanted if you want to see how amazingly well she can carry a movie basically by herself–and Julie and Julia, and all the other blockbusters she’s been in!

    Kelly Says:

Maybe Amy is unrecognizable because she isn’t pimping herself out to the media every five seconds like Kim K. Amy has made a conscience decision to be an actor and not a celebrity, she should be celebrated for that. She’s letting her talent do all the talking and that’s how it should be.

    she is so modest!

Sorry but why is she talking like that while she is making beauty shoots with a mag (they are known to photshop till perfectin comes out)?! If your actions dont back up your words it will always sound cheap. For me it sounds like she wanted to play in a superhero movie because this means big blockbuster, so she could get finally the recognition.

She’s not a famew**re …Plus I’ve been watching Enchanted for several times and I never get tired of seeing her on scene…it’s incredible her acting skills…just look for movies like Doubt, The Master and u will get what I mean…
She’s hands down one of the best actresses of her generation.

She prefers to be an actress and doesnt care about celebrity which is a very admirable trait. She’ll be around a long time and appreciated for her work instead of being a tabloid freak like others. Good on her.
