Vin Diesel Speaks at Paul Walker Memorial at Crash Site (Video)

Vin Diesel makes an impromptu speech to the hundreds of fans standing vigil at the site where Paul Walker lost his life after attending a private memorial service on Monday night (December 2) in Santa Clarita, Calif.

The 46-year-old actor took over the loud speaker of a police car to send a message of love and thanks to the fans.

“I just want to say to all of you, if my brother were here right now and he saw all of the love you are bringing here,” Vin said. “If he could see for himself that all of you have shown up to show my brother love… at this hard time his family gets to see all of you show the love that you’ve shown Paul. It’s going to stay with me forever. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciate him,”

Before the private memorial service for Paul‘s family and the cast and crew of the Fast & Furious series, police made fans vacate the area. A permit was obtained by Universal to shut down the streets surrounding the crash site from 7pm until 10pm for the service, according to THR.

Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson visited the crash site the day before and broke down in tears while standing vigil by the makeshift memorial.

Piss off ahole. If people werent acting like tools, videotaping every thing, the cops wouldnt need to be present and the roads wouldnt need to be closed. People need to gtfu!!!!

  • Jacko

@SHINE: Totally agree dude! This wasn’t really necessary to block off and quarantine others for their selfish needs. Seriously, why even put out a video and photos to promote this tribute if they wanted it to be private??? You people are stupid. Let the milking of a fellow actor’s death begin-again.

  • Jacko

@Joneblaze: People like you are stupid. Why did Vin put out this damn video then?

  • Jacko

@Tara: You’re stupid too! Why on earth would they put out a video if they wanted it to be a private tribute? Block off everyone away, so they can do this? Are these celebrities so stuck up and high on their own egos? Why didn’t they do this tribute while his fans were there yesterday, and the day before? Explain.

What concern is it to you, you probably don’t pay taxes.

  • jimmy

    Hollywood is scarey, damn! RIP

  • Alicia

@Jacko: You are stupid, wth? Vin did not put this video out, a fan recorded it and posted it on youtube.
There were hundreds of people at the site and the family just wanted a moment to grieve by themselves without cameras in their face and people staring, waiting to see their reaction like they did with Tyrese. Stop being so damn ignorant.

  • neil

Much like the Adam Lanza sociopaths that come here to enlighten us with their drivel.

  • Alicia

Paul Walker was famous with famous friends and family. Because he was a celebrity, paparazzi and fans cannot respect when they just need to be left alone in silence to grieve. The fans had their day to pay tribute to him and now his family needed a moment to themselves and the only way to do that would be to block off the roads. It’s not as drastic as everyone is making it seem.
Maybe I’m a little more sympathetic because my family experienced something similar, but you people need to be a little more understanding.
Let’s say you lost someone and you wanted to mourn them for at least a little while, but you had cameras shoved in your face and people just staring at you like the whole thing was a show. It’s not okay, and it’s not fair.

  • just a thought

Too much self promotion. Too much movie promotion. Same thing happen when that guy from Glee died. Look at me. Read my tweets. Look at how I am suffering because this person died.
    RIP Paul Walker

  • http://JustJared Jan

Is it me? I find it a little morbid that people go to where he died instead of where he lived. It’s emotionally overpowering to stare at the exact site where he died so tragically…I don’t know why there is a need to feel that way…

  • mardi gras

yes Jan I was a little taken aback by the fact they are having a memorial service at the crash site? Not sure how healthy that is for the son who already watched the car go up in flames.

  • mardi gras

I mean I hate to just drive by the building where my mother died even now over a year later.

  • Anna

@just a thought: So people who are famous have no friends and family that care about them? That is what you are basically saying here. You’re stupid when someone dies there are people who suffer and grieve because of losing that person. Just because Paul was famous doesn’t mean that people don’t care about him. Vin and Tyrese have known Paul for 13 years because of F&F I would imagine they became close over that extensive period so they are both probably devastated by this. Show some respect!

  • buffalo girl

I believe that there was another car involved and that a drag race was the cause of the accident. The cover up of this is to make sure that the insurance company pays off for his death. It is wrong to lie about this and it does nothing to support the fact to drivers young and old that drag racing is dangerous.

  • Emily

@Anna: Then the best way to respect him is to stop making those dang Fast Furious series. Like do we need a 12th one? End it with Paul’s character and everyone move on.

  • Taking-A-Break

With all due respect to the loss lives, this is above & beyond any attention an ‘average’ person would receive. Do you think the cops would allow an unknown person to make a speech on a loud speaker of their police car? Heck no! They’d laugh in that person’s face. There are so many ‘respectful’ ways Vin could have shown his respect. This just makes him look like he’s playing up on the opportunity to get attention for himself. Vin is an a$$. Always has been; always will be.

  • Just stop.

@buffalo girl: …except they weren’t. 1. There is security video that shows the car and they weren’t drag racing. 2. Paul wasn’t that kind of person, he was always promoting safe, legal street racing in safe venues. 3. This accident happened a block away from the charity event, I have the hardest time believing that if there were drag racing going on, not a single person heard it? No one has come forward to say they heard or saw it. So it wasn’t drag racing.

I think the car was having issues and seeing as it was a car that belonged to Roger’s Always Evolving company, he probably felt it was his responsibility to figure out why it was stalling/having issues and took it for a test drive and most likely a joy ride. Paul jumped in at the last minute because he hadn’t had a chance to ride in it yet and this was a horrific tragic accident. If Roger were testing things out with the car, plus driving fast (and by fast, he could have been going the speed limit of 40/45, whatever it was for that area) and the steering wheel stopped working because it was leaking fluid, as his friends/co-workers have claimed, it could cause anything to happen. Have you ever driven a car and lost control with the steering or lost control of being able to steer? Maybe the car stalled, with the lost steering and he couldn’t maneuver it to a stop in a safe way and that’s when they hit the pole and trees.

I wish people would stop with the negative accusations about what happened. Or the idea that the family and friends are having a private memorial service to capitalize on the situation. Just because YOU may not be someone who can go back to the scene of the accident, doesn’t mean that everyone thinks and feels that way. And family and friends, of whoever famous or not, should have the right to privacy during their mourning. Maybe they wanted a moment to themselves and while appreciative of the fans and the love, they still wanted a moment to themselves. I think we could all put ourselves in their shoes and think for a second on how it would feel to lose a love one who happens to be in the public eye and the want to still mourn in private.

  • Haters Suck!

Some people need closure as part of the grieving process. I see that as a reason why they visted the crash site. It may be a little early to think about closure but who am I to question how they want to do this. They need to do whatever they feel helps them.

  • Haters Suck!

    @taking a break
God forbid something happen to me or you and we pass (knock on wood) but hundreds of people wouldn’t randomly be coming by to pay respect. I don’t have a problem with Vin taking the opportunity to thank the crowd for their condolences.

  • M.

R.I.P Paul Walker and Vin did a really decent thing talking to all the fans who gathered there.

No.1; What? You have some kind of a race problem just because Vin is half white and half black. If it helps at all, the guy usually votes Republican.

  • tjmack

Vin didn’t put out the video. Someone recorded it, and if you read the article you would see that it says that Vin thanks the fans AFTER a private memorial. The fans weren’t allowed near the crash site during the private memorial so that Paul’s family and friends could grieve in private.

Everyone on here, minus just a few people aren’t even focusing on the fact that this was to pay tribute to someone who just died. A little respect is all that’s needed. Even if you didn’t like Paul as an actor, he was a very humble and generous guy and deserves a lot more than everyone arguing over this and that. So, RIP Paul Walker and Roger Rodas.

Read who this article is about, Paul Walker, Not Justin Bieber…I dont know about anybody else here but at this time, i cant see caring for what JB is going to be doing, what movies hes going to be playing in or what girl he is with…This is about Paul Walkers death and the people that care about him and want his name to move on.

  • x

What a dramatic attention-hog. That is very disgraceful behaviour.

  • x

Seems like Vin Diese;s trying to make it all about himself, strolling in 48 hours later and addressing the crowd, It;s as if he’s realised Mr Walker’s demise was making news headlines, worldwide and he decided he wanted in on it. I’d have been far more impressed if he had made a low key visit to the deceased’s family and offered his condolences

  • Valentine

Have some respect for the dead! RIP Paul Walker! Your big heart and talent will be very missed.
