Prince William Reacts to Nelson Mandela's Death (Video)

Prince William has spoken out about the death of former South African president Nelson Mandela moments after watching the new movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

The 31-year-old royal was attending the London premiere of the new film when news broke about Nelson‘s death. Reports suggest that William and his wife Kate Middleton were told about the death while the movie was playing, but the audience didn’t find out until after the credits played. A two minute moment of silence was held in the theater.

“It’s obviously extremely sad and tragic news. We were just reminded of what an extraordinary and inspiring man Nelson Mandela was, and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family,” William told reporters while Kate stood by his side.

I don’t think it’s tragic that he died at 95. Its sad but I won’t use tragic. He lived a full life. We should celebrate his life and the gift he gave to the world. I remember the whole apartheid chaos when I was little. But RIP Mandela.

When the Prince finished giving his statement, he just left Kate there to follow..a bit weird. Or am I the only one looking too much into this?

My goodness, does Kate every speak, she is like some pretty barbie doll……she seems so very one dimensional when she just stands there….this from a College Graduate…..!!!!!!

@ladyb: I agree with you

@marie: Yes.Many people graduate college without it making much of a difference at all. Plenty of people with dumb,limited behavior actually get through college. Middleton has never been able to speak well. William gets nervous or downright annoyed when anyone puts a microphone in front of her. I think they have an agreement. She’s all about hair and flashing her parts and he does the talking. Lobotomy ? Maybe. Waity manages to make nice and she coos, makes small talk and dumb faces when she visits people on her rare public duties. Then there’s a press frenzy afterward on how great she is, LOL. Loads of propaganda out there on Waity.

Waity Middleton was highly annoyed that someone died. She’d been assuming the night would be all about her ponytail and the slit in her dress that went all the way up top her crotch. Oh well, bimbo had tough luck, Mandela took the spotlight off her crotch and her hair. That’s what Waity is all about ! Bimbo Power !

Not normally a fan of Kate-bashing, in general she fulfils an antiquated role pretty elegantly I think. However, the concentrated adjustments she makes to her hair while William gives his quick but considered response to the news is wildly embarrassing and inappropriate.
