Gerard Butler Visits Liberia with Mary's Meals - All the Photos!
Gerard Butler takes some time out of his busy schedule to spend time with just a few of the children supported by the organization Mary’s Meals during a four-day trip to Liberia back in December.
The 44-year-old actor has been a supporter of the charity ever since presenting its founder Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow with a CNN Hero award back in 2010. The organization feeds 822,142 every day and its central vision is to reach every child with a nutritious daily meal in their place of education.
On his trip, Gerard pitched in with volunteer-cooks to prepare and serve Mary’s Meals and he also bonded with children by taking a class with them, playing soccer, and much more.
“This trip has inspired me to get more involved and hopefully will inspire other people. I wish people could spend one second or one minute that I’ve had here in these schools, with these families, as I do think anyone who has had that experience would get way more involved,” Gerard said about his trip in a statement.
