Celebrities React to Everything That's Happening in Ferguson, Missouri

Celebrities have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on what has happened over the past several days in Ferguson, Missouri between the police, the demonstrators, and the shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.

Last night, police fired tear gas and smoke bombs at demonstrators, all of which was caught on camera. Michael was gunned down just days before he was supposed to start college. He was not armed and the police officer who killed him has not had his name released to the public.

Celebrities have taken to Twitter to discuss police brutality and what is happening.

“I believe these cops are intentionally trying to inflame the situation. They want an excuse,” John Legend tweeted. “Recall the local cop telling those “animals” to “bring it” on CNN… He wants a fight. Calling us “animals” has been the language to justify slavery, Jim Crow and all manner of injustice. Dehumanization and racism go together.”

Keke Palmer, Penn Badgley, Lena Dunham, and more have also taken to Twitter to express their thoughts.

Keke Palmer: “For Ferguson, MO “Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.” “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.” “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Anger & unproductive outrage only causes more chaos & gives ppl a reason to believe that their wrong doings are validated. When you come in peace & reason, you play as a mirror to their actions instead of a distraction. Encourage love & positivity, that’s God’s way. Anyone against you wants for you to self destruct. DONT LET THE HATE CONSUME YOU, FIGHT SMARTER. #peace #love #unity”

Penn Badgley: “Some of us simply cannot imagine. ‘The ghost of Mike Brown: why must a dead black child defend his right to life?’”

Lena Dunham: Sending love and support to the citizens of Ferguson, who are in pain and asking for change.

Andy Cohen: Tear gas in Ferguson last night??? When does this end?

Mia Farrow: Police in #Ferguson – you are not supposed to point loaded weapons at unarmed citizens who are protesting peacefully

Martha Plimpton: Thinking of the people of Ferguson, MO tonight & sending love. I hope they all remain safe, & that they’re not disturbed in their mission. This country is in need of a reckoning. I hope the families & citizens of Ferguson, MO are heard.Turning our cities into war zones, that’s not the citizen’s choice. That’s the state. The people deserve peace.

Billy Eichner: CNN alternating between Ferguson & Robin Williams is…strange. Its a debate about unarmed black men followed by…a clip from Patch Adams!

John Green: Journalist @WesleyLowery arrested sitting at a McDonald’s in Ferguson. His twitter feed right now is terrifying.
