Taylor Swift Never Feels Part of the 'In' Crowd, But Doesn't Care

Taylor Swift looks chic in red, white, and black while posing on the cover of Fashion magazine‘s November 2014 issue, on newsstands October 13.

Here is what the 24-year-old singer had to share with the mag:

On what’s different about her new album: “The last album I made [Red] was a devastated record because [while] I was writing it, I was devastated by a big heartbreak. For this new record, I was in a different place, so it has a new kind of emotional DNA. It’s about exploring the world on your own terms.”

On the new important people in her life: “When I was younger, I was just fascinated by romance and now the most important thing to me is the opinions of [my] sisterhood of friends. Celebrities surround themselves with people who don’t know what they want and only have you to validate their lives – that’s not interesting to me. You should not be threatened by women who are pretty and charismatic and good at what they do…my girlfriends have shaped me more in the past year and a half than any other factor.”

On feeling uncool and unpopular: “I’ve never had more friends who I trust and can rely on, but there’s always a bit of your self-perception that’s frozen in junior high, when you trained yourself to not feel cool. You’ll never really feel like you’re part of the ‘in’ crowd, but growing up means that matters to you less and less every day.”

FYI: Taylor is wearing a Fausto Puglisi coat and dress with Mawi earrings on the cover.

stop giving so many interviews, no one cares

I was the leader of the in crowd at Roosevelt High School in Seattle. Everyone else had to accept my standard.
Therefore, it was a very exclusive ‘members only’ club.
And most of the kids were not even allowed to look me in the eye.

Exactly, our secret society motto in high school was very much a “no one cares” thing.

why is this girl always talking about being the ”outcast” and yet acts like she’s the queen bee by constantly putting others down or sounding like a hypocrite? I don’t get it…

I tell you I couldn’t agree more about the fact that you perpetually feel that way. I feel it too even in my age and what’s best is that I find I don’t necessarily give a damn. It’s a nice life folks. When you stop trying to fit a certain mold you feel so free. TRY IT! Also the less these blasted sites cease to matter.

The more she talks, the more Katy’s Regina George comment makes sense. It’s annoying as hell how she’s on this sisterhood/feminist/woman rule all road because I don’t believe a word she says. She still comes across as 13, a young freshman who is so desperate to hang with anyone and appear like she’s heading towards adulthood, she’ll attach herself to whatever is what she thinks is cool at the moment and pretend she’s always been into it. You can’t talk about hating confrontation and then create drama. You can’t talk about sisterhood and then backhand some comediennes because they made a harmless joke. You can’t talk about how you hate how everyone makes fun of you and your dating life when you’ve made a career out of writing about your love life that I think we all know you exaggerate. She reminds me of Kim K. and her whining about “why does everyone think I’d forget my child? Why does everyone believe Kanye would really do that a handicapped person?” …because honey, that’s the impression you put out. Why does no one take Taylor serious about love, dating or that those are the last things on her mind, etc… …well just listen to your lyrics and your interviews.

Someone needs a new PR team.

“I made [Red] was a devastated record because [while] I was writing it, I was devastated by a big heartbreak.” = fakemance with Jake Gyllenhaal =fakest relationship ever

You know who is an “outcast” and truly doesn’t care? Pink. She truly doesn’t care. Taylor comes off as saying she doesn’t care, but secretly she does.

@lol: jake is too good and smart for her. She needs to get a brain and stop having her pr team write what she will say in interviews.

Taylor Swift is a brand, not a person. The swift brand is contrived to attract and maintain her tween base. Her brand seems to consistently portray her as an innocent victim. I really don’t even think Taylor knows who she is.
