FKA twigs Deemed Vogue's Next Style Breakout Star

FKA twigs has been having a big year and she is going to start 2015 by being Vogue‘s next style breakout star!

Here is what the 26-year-old singer had to share with the mag:

On being ready for her next chapter: “Work always reflects how your brain is morphing. And right now is a very morphy time for me.

On the challenges of dating Robert Pattinson: “Sometimes I really struggle having my picture taken.”

On surrounding herself with creative friends: “I want to learn to tango, but I wouldn’t seek it out—I’ll wait to meet someone off the street who could teach me.”

She looks beautiful. Love this photoshoot.

  • Caryn Carrington

Vogue is out of touch with reality. This is not a style icon or breakout style icon by any means.

  • tom

vogue and this girl are delusional

  • Emma Bauer

Great pics and interview in Vogue.

  • Emma Bauer

Kristen Stewart fans still seething because Rob has moved on and upgraded. Just think even if Rob & twigs don’t work out he isn’t going back to KStew who will always be the downgrade.

  • Lexi

No, you KStew fans are the ones who are out of touch with reality. Back in June, long before Tahliah was ever seen with Rob, a fashion blog called WHO WHAT WEAR declared her to be a “fashion darling.” Back in June. Google it.

She also had her Mercury nomination before she was ever seen with Rob. She did it all on her own. She had a following and important people were taking note of her back then.

She is chic, edgy, sexy and has a real sense of style, so it’s natural that the fashion industry would take note of her. She doesn’t just wear skinny jeans, sneakers and a tee shirt. She has style. Get used to it, you’re going to see a lot more of her everywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her and Rob at the Met Gala in May. Anna Wintour loves her.

  • Lexi

She is so adorable, especially in the picture with the pink hat. Such a special soul, so strong and creative. She marches to the beat of her own drum, she’s true to herself so it’s no wonder she’s attracting a lot of new fans. You can tell how authentic she is.

The fashion spread is meant to highlight next season’s biggest and brightest statement
earrings—but it’s Twigs herself who shines the brightest. She
proves yet again that she’s a rising star in the fashion world, and I
couldn’t be more thrilled to see where she goes next. She certainly has upped Rob’s style game, he’s never looked happier, healthier or more attractive. Having a woman who appreciates you and isn’t afraid to show it will do that for a man.

  • Caryn Carrington

I’m not a K-Stew fan. I’m a fan of good fashion and this woman isn’t representative of it.

  • wintahwren

Pretty girl, but she makes about as much sense when she talks as Pattinson does.

  • tia maria

Congrats to FKA Twigs but honestly don’t see anyone really copying her fashion style.

  • tia maria

Why are some rob fans like you always mentioning his ex on posts that have nothing to do with her?

  • Lexi

Because Stew fans are here hating on Twigs. That’s why, but you probably already knew that.

  • Lexi

Baloney. I think Anna Wintour and the editors at Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ know more about fashion than you do.

They are paid for their professional opinions. You?

  • Lexi

Then you haven’t been paying attention. I’ve seen lots of pics on twitter of women buying stilletto boots like the ones she wears, precisely because they are copying her look.

She is a trendsetter. Vogue knows it. She’s been on their radar for awhile. She’s been on UK magazine covers for her style since 2011. She did a shoot wearing Balenciaga and Chanel earlier this year. All the fashion houses are interested in her, they know she’s a rising star and they want to be associated with her.

  • Guest

Stilletto boots have been around for a long time so just because people are buying them does not mean its because of twigs. I have many friends who own boots like her’s which they bought long before FKA twigs was wearing them

  • Emma Bauer

Maybe because it’s so obvious his ex’s psycho fans stalk him & his current girlfriend in their obsession they break up & he gets back with KStew. It’s more than obvious in spite of their hateful tirades they know KStew will never get a man as great as she had with Rob. Losers.

  • Guest

Correction you just assume every single person who says anything that does not praise FKA twigs or rob as being a Kristen fan which makes you just seem paranoid, same as emma

  • Lexi

And I’m talking about women buying these boots and tweeting that they specifically bought them because they are imitating her style.

I thought that was clear, but in case it wasn’t, I’ll spell it out for you. Women are also copying her hairstyles and jewelry. She is a trendsetter.

  • JEN

So having the complete opposite opinion of everything you have said.

  • JEN

    Vogue is going downhill…

  • Caryn Carrington

Well in the past I was a runway model although certainly not famous, sat on a fashion panel and am a long time purchaser of high end fashion.

  • Caryn Carrington

Well as I said above I’m not a KStew fan and actually I’m not an RPatz fan…just a fan of good fashion. And this isn’t it.

  • dalovelee

Is it impossible for you to grasp that there are different taste and styles that appeal to different people. Many people don’t live by Anna Wintour’s style guide. And maybe FKA Twigs sets her own style which appeals to those who like it. Sometimes the critics of Twigs come across like petty teenage girls whose world is a tiny bubble.

  • Seth Aicklen

Far be it from humble little “moi” to challenge Vogue about anything in its areas of authority and expertise, but it seems that fka Twigs is just starting out professionally, with a limited catalog, and would hardly be known outside the consumers of her genre were it not for her High-Profile Relationship. Therefore, it is not reasonable that her fashion expressions would be influencing very many folks yet. After all, how many people have you seen walking around with heavily air-brushed faces (LOL) or a flourish of capes or curtains? I don’t buy that some detail like a spike-heeled heavy boot represents a bold fashion statement, or that Twigs even created it. After all, she had to buy it somewhere herself, and most likely did not design it herself. Nope, it’s a bit early to jump on the old fka-fashionista train. That may be coming, though . . . Maybe the costume for humping a condemned prisoner . . . hmmmmm

  • http://www.pinterest.com/gloombeauty/bohemian-love/ Victoria Elizabeth

She reminds me of Lisa Bonet. Very beautiful girl but quite honestly, I never heard of her until she started dating Rob. Either way, cool to see different variety of beauty in these fashion magazines.

  • Zeenie Baby

    She is looking gorgeous here!

  • Zeenie Baby

clearly all that was in the past,Twigs is in the future

  • Zeenie Baby

    total losers!

  • Zeenie Baby

Happy for them.Rob is looking so happy these days

  • Lexi

No one said you are required to copy everything Twigs wears. That’s insane.

For you to say she’s not stylish or a trendsetter is also silly. She’s already proven to have a wide influence, whether you’re ready to admit it or not.

  • Zeenie Baby

yeah me too! I only heard about her when she started dating Rob

  • Lexi

A tweet with photos of her and Rob in NY was retweeted over 3,000 times just since this afternoon.

If you think she doesn’t already have a strong fanbase that’s growing everyday, think again. Is she Madonna? No. Gwen Stefani? no. And she doesn’t want to be.

She has a unique style and the fashion editors are loving it, so get used to seeing her around. She’s not going to disappear. When her tour is over in March she will be taking up residence in NY and I’m sure she’ll be in high demand for fashion shoots and all sorts of things.

  • Lexi

Since when is Vogue about reality? Fashion magazines sell fantasy, you should know that if you are all you say you are.

They’re aspirational, they give readers a hightened reality. Normal women aren’t meant to wear the haute couture ensembles you see on the runways or in the fashion editorials in Vogue.

And “good” fashion is a value judgment. You don’t have to like what Twigs wears, but that won’t stop millions of others from admiring and being inspired by her.

  • Maria

You are clearly a fan. Great. But outside of the UK, she is no one. That is why no one sees what she wears OR cares. Sorry. I had no idea who she was until RPatz took her on. If she’s up and coming, good for her.

  • tia maria

I live in the UK and have never once seen her on any magazine cover until summer this year and let’s be honest here like most rob fans, you never knew who she was until they were spotted together so don’t act as if you are suddenly her biggest fan.

  • niagirl

    PINEAPPLE JUICE!!!!!!

  • stanhope

Self appointed LOL. You are also delusional. Just for kicks, when we’re you last mentioned in Vogue or even the local high school newspaper as a fashion maven? Case closed.

  • stanhope

Shall we take on the real problem of the haters’ club with her? Rob is with a Black woman instead of a cheating harlot. Go sit in the corner and dream up some more hateful statement. One thing is for certain, Rob isn’t paying you dummies any attention.

  • CJLOVE23

She’s a beautiful, talented, kind soul. She’s very artistic and different ( in a good way) Her voice is amazing. Bad thing is.. people are going to think that any attention she garnishes from now on will only be because of Robert Pattinson. But the truth is she has more talent than he does which is so not fair.

  • CJLOVE23

HE FINALLY seems happy! Must be a nice change to be with someone who isn’t such a miserable drip. And with someone who isn’t ashamed of holding his hand in public like what’s her face.

  • Guest

Vogue really had taken a turn for the worse. She may have talent, I have no opinion but my opinion on her style – meh. It is certainly not new as noted it looks like Lisa Bonet circa 1980s.

  • spinclass312

Vogue is selling out in the age of digital. They can’t help but. I mean, Kim K on the cover? I don’t like FKA Twigs; she seems really weird for weird’s sake. Spit out some paint on a canvass and call it Art – with a capital A. Com’on, would she be on the cover if it weren’t for her high-profile relationship? She’s cute but she dresses like a homeless person and we all know it.

  • Lexi

Vogue is reflecting what most of the world sees. A talented, creative artist who has a strong fashion sense. She’s like a breath of fresh air, a welcome breath of fresh air.

  • danielle

Well Lexi you are obviously her number one fan. Excuse all of us that don’t see anything special about her. We of course are old, deluded, fans of KStew, ignorant and the like. The truth is if she wasn’t with RPatz she wouldn’t have gotten this “honor.” Her relationship with RPatz is what put her on the mainstream map and brought her to Vogue’s attention. Plus if you read blind items–she needs rehab.

  • dalovelee

Are you able to read and comprehend. I am responding to those who are critical of FKA Twigs and those who say she is not stylish. I am saying in simple English everyone has their own style and taste … Anna Wintour has her opinion and those who don’t agree should accept Twigs sets her own style and some like it. Anna Wintour and Vogue are based in New York there is not one style everyone lives by.

  • Demir San

She looks beautiful? Man, you need your eyes checked
