LLAP: Leonard Nimoy's Last Tweet Said to Live Long & Prosper

“Live long and prosper” was the famous phrase said by Leonard Nimoy‘s Star Trek character Mr. Spock after giving the Vulcan Salute… and it was also part of the actor’s final tweet before his death.

The actor died at age 83 on Friday morning (February 27) after a battle with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

“A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP,” Leonard said in his final tweet sent out on February 22, just before he was admitted to the hospital this week.

We continue to send our condolences to his loved ones.

My mom is a huge trekkie, been a fan for 40+ years. She loves to live by Mr. Spock’s knowledgeable words….The Needs of the Many Outweigh the Needs of the Few.

thank you …for helping make me a “sci-fi” guy! in the 70′s I would watch Star Trek reruns all the time. He and William made that show. There were sci fi seeds planted before that show came around, but Star Trek was the first “sci fi flower” to blossom in the American culture. It really brought this brand new genre to a whole nother level . And so began the age of the nerds and geeks…but most importantly….so began the age of dreams and inspiration, to boldly go where none had gone before or do things no one done before. Just look at all the cool tech things the 80′s got!

thanks Spock , for the memories. You will be loved and missed …always
