Leonardo DiCaprio Is Being Courted for Drug Epic 'The Cartel'

Leonardo DiCaprio might have a new film project for fans to look forward to – he is being courted to star in the upcoming drug epic, The Cartel.

The rights to the novels by Don Winslow that are inspiring the film were recently purchased by Fox and Ridley Scott is committed to directing the movie.

The story of the project “settles the score between DEA agent Art Keller and Mexican drug kingpin Adan Berrera,” according to Deadline.

Leo is being courted for the role of “Keller, the DEA agent who early on befriended Berrera as he was a drug dealer on the way up – depicted in ‘The Power of the Dog’ – leading to a bloody feud between them that breaks out again in ‘The Cartel’ after he escapes from prison.”
