Caitlyn Jenner Writes About Trans Suicide in Emotional New Blog Post
Caitlyn Jenner is discussing the tough topic of trans youth suicide rates in her newest blog post for WhoSay.
“And it’s not because trans people are somehow inherently unstable – it’s because we live in a world that makes it very, very difficult to be trans. Many people, especially kids, can’t see how they can live as their authentic selves and keep their family, their jobs and their homes,” the 65-year-old former Olympian wrote, explaining this serious issue.
Caitlyn goes on to discuss Kyler Prescott, a 14-year-old trans boy who sadly committed suicide earlier this year. Caitlyn met with Kyler‘s mom Katharine after Kyler‘s suicide and she has also written a powerful essay for the blog.
“My brother died in a car crash when he was 18 and my family never really recovered from it. I can’t begin to imagine the Prescott family’s pain,” Caitlyn wrote, before segueing into Katharine‘s blog.
