Andy Grove Dead - Former Intel CEO Dies at 79

Andy Grove, the former CEO of Intel, has died at the age of 79.

The Silicon Valley mastermind passed away from unspecified causes on Monday (March 21) according to Intel, where he worked for 37 years.

During his time at Intel, he played an instrumental role in the move from memory chips to microprocessors in computers and turned the corporation into the world’s largest chip company.

“Andy made the impossible happen, time and again, and inspired generations of technologists, entrepreneurs, and business leaders,” current Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said in a statement.

Andy was also named Man of the Year by Time Magazine in 1997.
