Nathan Fillion Reacts to 'Castle' Cancellation

Nathan Fillion is reacting to the cancellation of his show Castle, after it was announced on Thursday (May 12) that it would not be returning for a ninth season.

The 45-year-old actor took to his Twitter to say thank you to those that watched and worked on the show.

“All things must end. It has been an honor working with the men and women of Castle. I am truly amazed at what we’ve done. Thank you all,” he wrote.

Nathan sent a couple more messages later on which got a little more interesting.

“Dear Every Director, It appears I have an opening in my schedule,” Nathan tweeted, adding, “Dear Fans, In whatever project I do next, loudly notice how unlike Castle and fresh and versatile I am. Thanks.”

Since you clearly have no clue – he’s going to be fine. He’s an in-demand actor and moved repeatedly that he can carry a show. His career is going to be just fine.

Nathan Fillion has natural charm and acting talent–and will certainly get more work, and expand his resume. If I were managing his career, I’d go for one big mini-series (maybe the return of “True Detective”) or something on Amazon or Netflix, and a few Guest Star/multiple arc roles on quality TV series like “How to Get Away with Murder” or “NCIS” or “Scandal”. Stay away from films, if it’s not a Super Hero comic-book or SciFi film (and he’s already done “Firefly”), it’s too much time spent on a crap-shoot that most likely won’t pay off anyway. [Note: Of course "Star Wars" is the exception--you ALWAYS accept "Star Wars."]

Everyone knows he was the one behind Katic being fired. Too bad, Nathan, your ego is too big for your talent.

I see it differently. In interviews I watched, she always seemed to me to be extremely full of how smart and perfect she was. I imagine the show was way too low brow for her. I could be wrong, but that’s the feeling I always got from her. Regardless, the show was going on too long and the writers were making no sense the last couple seasons, so i think it was time to end it.
