Democrats Stage Sit In on House Floor Over Gun Control, Celebrities React
United States Democrat House members staged a sit in and a shut down to try and demand a vote on gun control on Wednesday (June 22) in Washington, D.C.
The Democrats refused to let the Republicans take back control, and it was all caught on C-SPAN on video.
“Where is our courage?” Democratic Representative John Lewis of Georgia, who organized the sit in, said.”Those who pursue common-sense improvement are beaten down. Reason is is put aside …What is the tipping point? Are we blind? Can we see?… Give us a vote! we came here to do our job!”
The lawmakers said they will not leave until House Speaker Paul Ryan allows a vote to try and get stricter gun control laws in place.
The Orlando shooting was just one of numerous deadly shootings that took place this month in America, and celebrities have been taking to social media to demand change and raise awareness.
