When Do the Rio Summer Olympics 2016 Start? Get the Date!
We are just days away from the start of the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, so here are some important dates that you’ll want to remember!
The opening ceremony for the Olympics will be held on Friday (August 5). The ceremony will kick off at 8pm BRT, but it will air an hour delayed in the U.S. at 8pm EST. This will allow time for NBC to add commentary to the events happening in the ceremony.
Two sports will kick off before the opening ceremony. The women’s soccer tournament begins on Wednesday while the men’s soccer tournament begins on Thursday. The Archery ranking round will happen on Friday morning before the ceremony.
The Olympics will last for a little over two weeks and the closing ceremony will happen on August 21.
