'The Simpsons' Predicted Donald Trump's Election Win in 2000

The Simpsons saw President Trump coming way back in 2000, when they predicted his presidency in an episode called “Bart to the Future.”

In the episode, Bart has a vision 30 years into the future where his sister Lisa is president.

Lisa reveals that the whole country is broke thanks to the president in charge before her – Donald Trump.

“As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump,” Lisa says to her staff in the episode.

Earlier this year, Simpsons writer Dan Greaney talked about the prediction, saying, “It was a warning to America. And that just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane.”
