Carrie Fisher Will Reportedly Appear 'Star Wars: Episode IX'

Carrie Fisher will make an appearance in Star Wars: Episode IX, according to Confidential.

The late actress’ brother Todd and her daughter Billie Lourd have given Disney permission to use recent footage of Carrie for the ninth film.

“Both of us were like, ‘Yes, how do you take her out of it?’ And the answer is you don’t,” Todd told the publication.

He added, “She’s as much a part of it as anything and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi Wan – when the saber cuts him down he becomes more powerful. I feel like that’s what’s happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue.”

Although Todd was not sure how Carrie would appear in the film, it is understood that they will not be using CGI.

Star Wars: Episode IX is expected to hit theater May 23, 2019.
