Padma Lakshmi Was Threatened, Called Racial Slurs By 'Top Chef' Teamsters

Top Chef supervising producer Ellie Carbajal testified in court this week that members of the Teamsters Union hurled insults and racial slurs at host Padma Lakshmi while being accused of trying to extort the show for driving jobs.

According to the testimony, provided by Deadline, one man said, “That’s the pretty one. We want to smash her face in.”

“Your mama would be so proud,” the producer said, to which a man responded, “At least I’m not a scab like you.”

Other insults such as “c-nt” and a terrible racial slur were recorded as well.

Robert Cafarelli, John Fidler, Daniel Remond and Michael Ross – the four men charged with extorting the company – have pleaded not guilty.
