Ava DuVernay Will Direct the DC Comics Movie 'New Gods'!

Ava DuVernay is moving into the superhero world!

Following her recent adventure across the universe, the 45-year-old filmmaker will be directing New Gods at Warner Bros, which is part of the DC Extended Universe and based on the DC Comics book series of the same name, according to Variety.

The New Gods are natives of the twin planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. New Genesis is an idyllic planet ruled by the Highfather, while Apokolips is a ruined dystopia filled with machinery and fire pits and is ruled by the tyrant Darkseid.

This is the second major superhero movie to be directed by a woman, following Patty Jenkins‘s Wonder Woman in 2017.
