Women's World Cup TV Ratings Are Higher Than the Men's!

The ratings for the 2019 Women’s World Cup championship game are in and the women’s game was watched by a lot more people than last year’s men’s championship game!

Deadline reports that it looks like the final number of U.S. viewers for the women’s 2019 game will be around 19 million people. If this number holds, the game will be the second-most watched soccer match in U.S. history.

In comparison, the amount of people who watched the men’s championship game in 2018 on Fox was just 11.3 million people.

When the USA women’s team won the game on Sunday, fans in the crowd were heard shouting “equal pay!” If you didn’t know, the female players make much less money than male players despite being more popular with fans.
